Nate Schlater is the Rural Action Watershed Program Director. He has an associate degree in fish management and aquaculture from Hocking Technical College and a Bachelor of Science degree in fish and wildlife conservation and management from Rio Grande University. Nate began working for Rural Action in 2008 as the Monday Creek Water Quality Specialist. He took over as the Monday Creek Watershed Coordinator in 2012 and began operating as the Watershed Program Director in 2020.

Nate coordinates partnerships, develops projects, and collects data that leads to the preservation and improvement of Ohio’s water resources, one of our greatest assets. Outside of work, Nate enjoys practicing what Rural Action preaches by respecting and utilizing the land in a manner that ensures a beautiful and biologically diverse Appalachian Ohio will be preserved for generations to come.
