
Marissa Lautzenheiser is the Rural Action Northern Programs Director. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree Political Science and Biology from Malone University. Marissa began working for Rural Action in 2012 as the Huff Run and Mud Run Watershed Coordinator and began operating as the Northern Programs Director in 2020.
Marissa develops projects, grows relationships, and works to expand the availability of sustainable programming in northern Appalachian Ohio. She is recognized as a leader in innovative mine reclamation project development and has testified before Congress in support of abandoned mine land remediation. The New Philadelphia-based office leads many watershed and environmental education focused projects. A lifelong resident of the Tuscarawas River Watershed, Marissa enjoys growing her own food and being outside with her family, preferably in a body of water.
