Marissa R. Lautzenheiser is the Huff Run/Mud Run Watershed Coordinator for Rural Action in Mineral City, Ohio. She received her B.A. in Political Science and Biology from Malone University in Canton, Ohio. While an undergraduate she researched and presented her thesis “Concrete Steel Aggregate: A Tool in Passive Water Remediation”. Marissa lived and studied in Washington D.C. at the American Studies Program, during which she worked as a Program Assistant with the USDA Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.
After interning three consecutive terms with Ohio Dept. of Natural Resources, Div. of Mineral Resource Management she accepted her current position with Rural Action in 2012. A lifelong resident of the Tuscarawas River Watershed, she enjoys the hands-on elements of her position as well as the planning and organizational responsibilities.
