
Carrie Vieland is an Athens, Ohio, native, born and bred in the rolling hills and hollows of Shade. A graduate of Ohio University twice over, Carrie holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from the School of Recreation, Sport Pedagogy and Consumer Sciences with concentrations in Outdoor Recreation and Environmental Studies.
In 2012, Carrie served as an AmeriCorps volunteer with the Rural Action Environmental Education program where she developed a love of outdoor education and an appreciation for her native community. After many years working in the field as a camp counselor, a bike touring guide, a challenge course facilitator, and most recently a Camp Director, Carrie is excited to be back at Rural Action bringing Environmental Education programming to the communities of South East Ohio.
