Alexandria Polanosky is the Media and Communications Director at Rural Action. She has a passion for community organizing, creative direction, multimedia production, marketing strategy and small-scale agriculture. When she is not working on branding and communication strategies or producing multimedia content, she is most likely wandering around and staring at her gardens or flipping her latest thrifted furniture find.

Alexandria graduated from Ohio University with a Visual Communication degree in Photojournalism and a specialization in Environmental Studies and Food and Society. She previously worked for ACEnet, the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, as a freelance storyteller across the region, and most recently as Assistant Director of Content at Ohio University. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration from the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs.

“One of my first experiences with Rural Action after graduating from Ohio University was attending the CPA as an AmeriCorps service member with ACEnet,” Alexandria says. “It feels like I have come full circle to now get to work within this organization and collaborate with so many people that helped me navigate my post-graduation journey. I could not be more excited to work to further Rural Action’s mission and bring with me the skills that I’ve gained since that first visit to the produce auction. I am so grateful for the community that I’ve found here and for the individuals at this organization that work so hard to lift up this region, and I’m so happy to join you in this work.”
