We need help removing a fence from an old industrial park in Newcomerstown on April 2. We’ll do this in a socially distanced way, and masks will be required. If you’re able to help, please sign up below.
The Village of Newcomerstown now owns the land where the fence is located and they want it taken down so the area can be used by the public. The fence is covered with vines, which makes it hard to see the river, and in some locations the fence is in poor condition.
Volunteers are asked to bring tools for cutting back vines and disassembling the fence, including wrenches, pliers, pruners, and branch cutters. Work gloves also will be needed. Bring what you can, but at the very least, bring yourself. We will have some tools to share, and we’ll need people to help roll up the fence.
Work will begin at 9 and while work is planned to last until 5 p.m., volunteering for even a few hours would be helpful. It’s a big job. Lunch will be provided for everyone who signs up.
If you have questions, please email Vicki
