Hannah Kopp joined Rural Action as a Watershed Program Manager in 2022. Prior to joining as a staff member, they served as an Appalachian Ohio Restore Corps (AORC) member with Rural Action’s Watershed Program.

Hannah graduated from Ohio University in 2020 with a Bachelors of Specialized Studies degree in Natural Resources Conservation following their graduation from Hocking College in 2018 with a degree in Wildlife Resources Management. Their passions lie in restoring impacted ecosystems in Appalachia while encouraging a community land ethic.

Before AmeriCorps, they held multiple field and lab technician positions at Ohio University, Iowa State University, and Butterfly Ridge Conservation Center. Their scope of work included caterpillar wrangling, butterfly and vegetation monitoring, and other wildlife surveys for species such as bobcats, Eastern box turtles, wood frogs, and Eastern hellbenders.

Outside of work they enjoy flipping logs for salamanders, catching insects, caving, juggling, and spending time with their three cats.
