“Our office recently hosted a talk about acid mine drainage (AMD) at the Dover City Library. It was great to educate the attendees about the causes and impacts of AMD as well as remediation solutions. We also utilized the break-out room feature on Zoom, which allowed us to chat with the attendees in a more relaxed manner. We showed them the Interactive Mine Map created by ODNR and how to look at the mines around their homes. Two of our attendees have AMD issues on their properties, so we were able to look at their homes and reach out to ODNR for followup information.”
