Pugh Joins Rural Action as Finance Director

Christy Pugh joined Rural Action in May as the Director of Finance. During her accounting career she has specialized in financial management for small businesses and non-profit organizations, with a particular interest in food systems, small-scale agriculture, and environmental stewardship. She works to provide professional-level long-term financial planning and management, compliance and fiscally healthy procedures to help mission-driven organizations thrive. She also has served as an auditor and tax-preparer in a public accounting firm.

Christy earned her bachelor’s degree at Wake Forest University, and master’s degree in Accounting and Information Systems from Virginia Tech. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. She strives to live a low-impact lifestyle in a tiny solar-powered home, and enjoys music, biking, growing food, and camping and kayaking with friends.
