Take your forest farming to the next level during the West Virginia Forest Farming Field Day in Hillsboro, West Virginia.

In partnership with Rural Action, the West Virginia Forest Farming Initiativeand the Appalachian Beginning Forest Farmer Coalition are hosting the field day on May 22 at Yew Mountain Center, a 500-acre nature preserve in West Virginia.

During this in-person event, six groups of 10 people will spend the day rotating through seven field stations that offer instruction in a variety of forest farming topics, including:

  • Site Analysis and Assessment
  • Propagation
  • Planting
  • Value-added Demonstration
  • Mushroom Cultivation
  • Syrup and Tapping

The event costs $25 and includes all instruction and lunch.
