Get a Management Plan for Your Forest Land
Rural Action’s Sustainable Forestry Program and Hocking College’s School of Natural Resources are seeking forest landowners in Athens County who are interested in developing a forest management plan for their property.
The goal is to help landowners develop plans that provide management recommendations for both traditional forest management activities, like timber stand improvement and invasive plant control, as well as specialty Non-Timber Forest Products, which include products like ginseng, ramps, and mushrooms.
Landowners will have the opportunity to walk their property with Rural Action and Hocking College forestry staff to identify management opportunities and discuss strategies to achieve management goals.
Requirements to participate:
- Property must be located in Athens county
- Minimum of 20 forested acres
- Must own the property
Interested landowners should contact Sustainable Forestry Director Tanner Filyaw to enroll or request more information. Capacity for this service is limited so please sign up now!
