CPA’s Summer VISTA members – Alex Mykulyn, Natalie Ruth, and Elizabeth Vigue – have been documenting “the journey that produce takes from the auction floor to homes, restaurants, healthcare providers, colleges, and hungry mouths across the region.”
The first installment of Follow the Food, Produce Prescriptions, details how healthcare institutions like Coplin Health Systems and Hopewell Health Centers have partnered with CPA to prescribe healthy food to their patients to help manage chronic health conditions.
In the second post, the VISTAs detail how CPA produce ends up in the kitchens of 146 Buying Club members who receive weekly shares of produce, ranging from half pecks, to full pecks, to (for the really hungry) half-bushels.
