Appalachian Green Teachers Conference Under Way
The COVID-19 pandemic didn’t derail the Appalachian Green Teachers Conference, but it definitely changed our 2020 programming.
Instead of bringing everyone together for a few days at beautiful Burr Oak Lake, the conference is mostly online and is occurring over a four-week period. And there’s still a lot of great programming left. The final week of sessions begins Nov. 16, and the theme is interdisciplinary environmental education. Presenters include the Ohio Valley Museum of Discovery, Wayne National Forest, Children’s STEM Garden, Solid Ground School, and our own amazing volunteer, Maggie Owens, who will lead a session on integrating math into environmental ed on Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 1 p.m.-3 p.m.
