Rural Action will moderate a panel of local farmers who will share how they have used this approach in their businesses. Panelists include Abbe Turner, owner of Lucky Penny Farm; Paul Harper, owner of Woodland Ridge Farm; and Dan Kneier, Farm Manager at Hocking College.

Business Model Canvas: Understanding Your Farm Business

The Business Model Canvas is a visual planning tool for both new and existing farm businesses – and often the first step toward writing a business plan. Faith Knutsen and John Glazer of Ohio University’s Voinovich School will provide an overview of the Business Model Canvas and lead participants in identifying key elements of their farm business plan using this resource.

Creating Your Farm Business Plan

Paul Patton, Social Enterprise Director at Rural Action will walk farmers through the key elements of a successful business plan and help them begin to write their own as part of a Whole Farm Plan.
