Residents in Dennison and Urichsville can jump start their spring cleaning by bringing unwanted books, mattresses, and e-waste (smaller appliances and electronics) to the “Twin City Recycle Roundup” at McCluskey Park in Dennison.

All donated items should be clean and dry. Following the event, collected items will not go to a landfill. Instead, books will be taken to a paper recycler in Akron, mattresses will be delivered to a recycler in Pittsburgh, and smaller appliances (no larger than a microwave) and electronics will be taken to the Stark-Tuscarawas -Wayne Recycling District site.

Following are smaller household appliances that will be accepted: window unit air conditioners, dehumidifiers, humidifiers, push lawn mowers, microwaves, and metal sinks.

Following are electronics that will be accepted: audio equipment, audio/visual equipment, cell phones, CD players, DVD players, DVDs, computer towers, flat screen monitors, connectors, cords, fax machines, game consoles, hard drives, keyboards, laptops, modems, mouse, paper shredders, power supplies, printers, servers, speakers, stereos, radios, tape drives, telephones, flat-screen televisions, toner cartridges, VCRs, chargers, remotes, walkie talkies, printer cartridges, iPads, iPods, mp3 players, scanners, Wii, and Xbox.

The event will be held rain or shine – cancellation will occur only due to extreme weather with lightning.
