Season Creation workshop offers farmers, educators new opportunities to grow year-round.
Rural Action invites farmers, farm educators, and prospective farmers to two on-farm Season Creation Workshops at Green Edge Organic Gardens Thursday, November 12 and Monday, December 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The workshop will focus on methods used in the Season Creation model developed by Green Edge Organic Gardens. Their innovative use of high tunnel greenhouses and grow rooms ensures a year-round selection of seasonal vegetables, micro greens, and specialty mushrooms extending their growing season to include a fourth winter period. The workshop will include both on-farm and classroom portions and is taught by the farmers.
The workshop will start at the Amesville Grange Hall located at 17486 State Street Amesville, OH 45711. Fee for the workshops is $20 per day, which includes a local lunch. Geographical scholarships are available on a case by case basis. For more information or to register for the workshop contact Tom Redfern of Rural Action at 740-677-4047 ex. 21 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
