When your organization decides to take the Zero Waste Pledge, your $100 fee includes the following benefits:

The Assessment
  • 1 dumpster dive of materials in your waste stream and walk-through of your building
  • A detailed written report of your strengths, challenges, and next stepsDSC_0310
  • 1 meeting to discuss report and decide on Pledge commitments
Resources
  • 2 hours of Rural Action staff time to help implement commitments
  • 1 Zero Waste Pledge Certificate that includes your commitments
  • A list of options for purchasing recycled, compostable, and recyclable goods
  • Electronic files of recycling, compost, and landfill signs for your collection bins
  • 1 business membership to Rural Action
Promotion
  • 1 Zero Waste Pledge decal that you can display in your window
  • A JPEG of the Zero Waste Pledge logo to put on documents, websites, and social media
  • 1 boosted Facebook ad on Rural Action’s page announcing your commitment
  • Your logo on Rural Action’s website for a year
Follow Up
  • A follow-up phone call one month after recycling and waste reduction efforts are in place
Need more services?

If your organization decides you would like more time and resources than are listed above, we are happy to contract with you to do the additional work.  We charge $30/hour for our services.  Such services will be discussed and agreed upon, but may include:

  • Ordering and placing recycling and compost bins
  • Training staff to use new recycling and compost systems
  • Printing, laminating, and placing signs on bins
  • Conducting extensive research to solve a problem
  • Leading or attending regular meetings of a zero waste team
  • Working with a trash, recycling, or compost service provider to establish new programs
