Trimble Township Farmers Market

About

In 2009 Rural Action Sustainable Agriculture (RASA) partnered with Community Food Initiatives (CFI), and the Appalachian Center for Economic Networks (ACEnet ) to support demand in Northern Athens County for a weekly farmers market in the Glouster area. This resulted in the establishment of the Trimble Township Farmers Market, a weekly seasonal farmers market in one of the poorest areas of Athens County. In 2011 the Trimble Township Farmers Market will become the first rural farmers market in Athens County to accept EBT (Ohio Direction Card) benefits.

Currently RASA is working with a variety of networks to support farmers market development in Nelsonville, and New Lexington. If you are interested in starting a farmers market in your area contact Bob Fedyski or Tom Redfern for information on how we and our networks can help you.
