We
need your shovel, sweat,
time and support to save our forest treasures!
Threatened
and endangered plants in Wayne National Forest are soon to be bulldozed
in preparation for paving the Highway 33 bypass around Nelsonville,
Ohio.
Rural
Action, Hocking College, and Frontier Natural Products Co-op are collaborating
with the Wayne National Forest in an all-out effort to rescue these
natural resources. Some rescued plants will be protected in holding
beds for restoration projects in Wayne National Forest.
You
can contribute to this effort in a variety of ways: commit to bring
your shovel to rescue plants with us this fall (and get sweaty and
dirty too!), commit to take the time to tell a friend about the project,
or pledge to support the effort with a financial contribution. The
New Frontier Foundation will match all donations dollar-for-dollar,
up to $10,000!
Phone
You can call Rural Action directly and sign up to work on a plant
rescue team or pledge financial support. Contact Elise George
