October 23, 2017: Market Gardening for Families

Chesterhill, OH— Community members are invited to a family friendly event this Saturday, October 28th to learn about opportunities to grow produce for improving health as well as ways to provide supplemental income for families with young children. The event is free and open to the public and will be held at the Marion Community Center, 7474 College St., Chesterhill, Ohio, from 10:30am to 12:30pm. The event will feature a free light lunch and pumpkin decorating for the children. All are welcome!

This event is produced in partnership between Rural Action and The Ohio State University. They are working on a project which seeks to highlight the economic and health benefits of vegetable gardening for families with young children. This event will be an introductory meeting to explain this project to potential participants. Attendees will receive informational materials on garden planning, market opportunities and cooking with fresh produce.
