Buckeye Trail AONPLD event

Buckeye Trail Association new Trailbuilding near Shawnee (Perry County)

Friday September 29th (5 p.m.) through Sunday October 1st (12 p.m.)

Parking at the Stone Church Trailhead: Head North of Shawnee on SR 93, left on Old Stone Church, look for the sign. We will be walking into the project site carrying hand tools and day packs.

There are no restrooms.  Bring your own food.

This is a camping event, but you are welcomed to come just for the day.

The Buckeye Trail is being relocated thanks to a partnership with the Wayne National Forest, private landowners and the Clean Ohio Green space Fund. We need your help to construct a 3 mile extension of the BT from the Old Stone Church area on the NW side of the WNF Athens Unit. Camping will be available Friday and Saturday nights. We’ll provide the tools and training needed. Come prepared for the weather and rugged terrain. Bring your own lunch and plenty of water in a day pack. This is your chance to give back to the hiking community by creating the newest segment of Ohio’s BT!

The Buckeye Trail Association has been the leader in building, maintaining, protecting and promoting Ohio’s 1,400+ mile state trail since 1959.
