Chesterhill, OH—Rural Action invites the public to the seventh Annual Farmer Appreciation Day and Potluck at the Chesterhill Produce Auction on Monday, September 5, 2016. The potluck begins at 3:00 p.m., followed by the auction at 4:00 p.m.
The Chesterhill Produce Auction began May 2nd this year and will run every Monday and Thursday through October 20th. “We invite community members, and leaders, farmers and foodies, to join us as we recognize the hard work of our farmers and other workers nationwide with good, local food and fellowship.” Said Tom Redfern, Rural Action’s Director of Sustainable Agriculture and Forestry. This year’s Farmer Appreciation Day will include dishes provided by community members featuring the local ingredients and traditional recipes. All are welcome whether or not you are able to bring a dish. Beverages will be provided.
After the community potluck, a regularly scheduled auction will take place at 4:00 p.m. Produce lots vary in size and are appropriate from single households and home canners to restaurants and institutional buyers. New buyers should register 15 minutes before the start of the auction.
The Auction is located at 8380 Wagoner Road, Chesterhill Ohio 43728, between Route 555 and Route 377, southwest of Chesterhill, Ohio in Morgan County. Auction prices and products are posted on www.ohiofoodshed.org.
