Appalachia Ohio Alliance (AOA) sponsored a free Nature Interpretive Walk at Trimble Township Community Forest located near Glouster, Ohio on August 13, 2011.

Participants were invited to meet at the Sunday Creek Watershed Office parking lot at 10:00 AM in order to carpool to Trimble Township Community Forest.

A leisurely walk was taken with Rural Action’s naturalist and outdoor educator Joe Brehm.
During the two-hour hike Brehm taught those whom attended more about the local ecology, including flora and fauna of this magnificent site.

The tour took place on the 1200 acre protected preserve in Athens County and participants enjoyed the beautiful summer wildflowers and butterflies found on the property. If you would like to go on your own nature hike, the Trimble Township Community Forest is located 12 miles east of Nelsonville off of State Route 78.
