Accomplishments Recognized at Second Annual Zero Waste Celebration

Nelsonville, OH – The Appalachia Ohio Zero Waste Initiative invites media to attend the Second Annual Zero Waste Celebration.

WHAT: Community members will gather together at the Zero Waste Celebration to recognize the strides that have been made towards zero waste, create a map of local zero waste infrastructure, and look forward to a future without waste. The Celebration will include an engaging panel & roundtable discussion around issues of organics, construction and demolition, policy, and waste reduction, as well as the announcement of the winners of the Waste Not Awards. The Appalachia Ohio Zero Waste Initiative (AOZWI) collaborates with communities to build local wealth and environmental health by increasing waste diversion and supporting the development of a zero waste economy. The AOZWI is coordinated by Rural Action in partnership with the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs at Ohio University and funded by the Sugar Bush Foundation, a supporting organization of the Ohio University Foundation.
