Rural Action has projects in 14 counties and makes an impact on most of the 29 counties of Ohio Appalachia.

Our Mission
Rural Action's mission is to promote economic, social, and environmental justice in Appalachian Ohio.

Our Vision
Our vision is to create model strategies for the region that involve a broad base of citizens in building environmental, economic, and social sustainability.

Healthy communities are important to everyone. Rural Action has been working with the people of Appalachian Ohio to build healthy, sustainable communities since 1982. Our approach to community development is based in the strengths, talents, and vision of our members, our neighbors, our friends.

Together, we envision a region of clean streams, healthy forests, thriving family farms. Meaningful jobs for everyone. Effective, well-funded schools. Lively towns that remember local history and celebrate their stories, music, arts, and crafts. And people working together to make this vision a reality.
